Completing the Challenge Rift as fast as possible is a testament to your knowledge of the game, your skill with that class, and your ability to analyze situations and make the best of them. The second attempt, I killed elites that were only on the way to the exit for the first two floors, the third floor has some good mob types. I never played a wizzard, or a monk post 60, or more than 2 hours of barbarian, never bothered looking at their gear, skills and spells yet completed them all. Enter the portal and defeat it! The die-hard know all about the best builds for each class. They are called Challenge Rifts. It can do semi-decent damage outside in practice, but after you get into the rift, that semi-decent damage doesn't exist any more, and the elites in no way shape or form can be killed in 5 seconds.
You can practice the rift now. If you clear the Nephalem Rift, there's a chance to get what's called a Greater Rift Token. These will be coming as part of a Patch 2. Most Challenge Rifts are easily completable within the first few tries, and beating the original time will get you a tidy bag of crafting materials. To the original poster: I agree this is diffenetly a wacky build.
All players have the same gear and skill loadouts and paragon points, and they're all running through identical Greater Rift layouts, right down to the monsters. Everyone will run the exact same build for that week and you cannot change anything on the build. So, it is no alternative for bounties, if you need a lot of mats. The gear is meh, the abilities are just bad. Practicing with it outside the rift takes care of things fairly easy but it's a totally different story once you enter the rift. The build in this challenge rift barely does any damage.

Hell, I never did find one for my Crusader. That was not deemed a large enough bonus, and just a few days later designer announced that Nephalem Rifts were going to get a 100% drop rate bonus, up from the 25% bonus.
There is absolutely no character development and choices to be made by players. Clicking the Nephalem Obelisk in town starts a five second loading bar added in , and then the Altar opens up to reveal a yellow portal that can be entered by all players in the game. For more dungeon romps, take a gander at. Blizzard recently revealed the Necromancer-specific Legendary effects and Set items that are on the way. Yet it would still end up in trial and error. The idea behind that is an actual challenge scenario, where players do increasingly hard Rifts, to try and see who can get the farthest. The enemies in the rift actually don't take anywhere near as much damage as the enemies you were killing in practice. To me, Challenge Rifts are the game design answer to what I wanted to explore with the original Play Your Way series. A new Challenge Rift will be released every Monday, and a selection of crafting materials and Blood Shards are available to anyone who can beat the target time. You cannot apply a controlled build players make, to the one in the challenge rift which is what you're doing.
