. I recently built a terrific cabinet using a Raspberry Pi 2. Thank you for any help. A lot of the games that are choppy are choppy not just because of a lack of horespower, but because the emulation on the games aren't perfect. Uniforms are still being worked on, I'm about halfway done with those. Feel free to check in with me in a few days to see how things are going.
I searched various forums looking for more information on this topic and came up empty handed for the most part. If you think there is something else cool we could get done in a months span let me know! If the emulation is still bad, a high powered system will not help you in running them. What are the specs for your Linux set up and how much is that going to cost you? Else I might have to start working on that this week. I am happy to help in any way that I can. What are some goals you had in mind for this seasons rom hack? Again, for a few games. I'm having the same problem.
I'll keep updating the patch as new things are completed. Other games do seem to run slow in busy scenes with multiple players. It is this model: I already had Ubuntu 14 installed on it, so I started installing all of the game emulators. I came to discover that not only have there been hacks, but one for this year is almost out. I've done the same and just added the game to my collection of titles for N64 and Dreamcast to ensure smoother frames and more playability. A Lot of progress has been made to the tools I use to update the game, so hopefully next year the patch will be completed before week 1 haha.
Alright, about 8 weeks late. Disclaimer: Naturally, I own a cabinet for every game I am trying to emulate, I am working on this project as backup copies. And for the record, in case you elect to ignore the advice and still go with the new processor, to my knowledge the game still plays choppy with the new i-7 from what I've read. When in doubt find someone experienced to help with technical problems. We could probably come up with a list of uniforms that need to be updated and we can split those. This game is perfect for a party I'm planning. The updated roster was provided by Idabadas Thanks man! I'd have to agree with Delusional.
Investing money on newer and faster processors for the sake of a handful of games isn't probably your best option in terms of where to allocate your money in a mame project. Thanks for all the insight, I'll try to remember to check back and see how it goes! I haven't got the arcade version of Blitz working on it yet. I am spending my time collecting my favorite games and cataloging what works on which emulators. I would also like a nice list of the hardware too. The dreamcast emulated versions of many games are better than their Mame counterparts. I am keeping it in a Google Spreadsheet and if it useful to anyone else, I am happy to share.
Dont bother with a better cpu - just use nulldc for dreamcast. I wouldn't say it's cancelled conpletely, but I may just wait until next season to work on it again. All of the games I've played on my computer have only dependent on matching technology of the early '90s and before. I was wondering if anyone else could confirm this a computer-based thing or if it's just an emulation problem. I have started working on 2018 graphics: I'll start keeping a running updated graphics list also. The sound is also very echoey.
It seems doubtful to me, but then again I'm not really into hardcore modern gaming. I have spent the day today building a Linux box as my new emulator for my cabinet. I have the pi now so I'll use that until I can grab a set up for something a little more powerful, and like you did, just keep the pi as a retro station. I am pumped for this to release. It even emulates older arcade games well with mame and Final Burn Alpha. I think im running a 2.
I still have a great deal of testing to do, but I am working diligently at it. I haven't had to change the config, however I did overclock it in the raspiconfig menu.
